Paper Runway
So — purely coincidentally — all the males in our family were dressed up in newspaper costumes on New Year’s Eve. Apparently, four out of six separate groups needed a Wildman to decorate their entry in the annual Antalya Turkey Fashion Show … modeled after the great ones in Paris.
J: Sultan Suleiman, with scimitar, bushy eyebrows, and puffy pants.
W: The Angel Gabriel (someone on his team found a “GA” and “BE” in newspaper type).
E: a lion that attacked and eventually was slain by a gladiator, with pointy claws and a mane.
H: Jesus, with a crown of thorns. Can you believe that? Like the rest of us had a chance.
The judges, however, were not swayed by H’s team’s dominating theology … and The Angel Gabriel carried the day.
Fabulous creativity. Wow. A hilarious addition to your amazing photo montage we continue to enjoy and gasp at and sigh with and dream through…
There is a discrepancy in your story. The gladiator was slain by the lion, not the other way around. ;)
