Guffawing Bed Tackle
So we wrote yesterday (“Two Havens”) about our recent visits to two villages, one in France and the other in Turkey, that are believed to be havens from what some say will be the end of the world … today.
The CBS News crew mentioned in that post was not turned off by my goofy, Fes-like winter hat or our yawning children … and produced a story with a Wildman cameo that ran stateside during the network’s morning show.
It was a priceless moment this evening watching the clip as a family for the first time. Nervous laughter ended in a guffawing boy pile on our bed ….
That is very funny. Morning Edition ran all sorts of stories on the end of the world this morning. I was very sad to hear a report from a University of Texas Mayan expert who claimed that the Mayans never ever predicted the end of the world and that he has no idea where all the rumors of our demise (according to Mayans) came from. I was hoping maybe the rapture was upon us….. Interestingly enough, I visited Ephesus when I was in High School — great memories.
