Echo of the Day
Today’s Echo of the Day came early, just a few minutes ago. Here’s what happened:
E often asks unexpected questions. Today’s opener (as S and I were still in bed) was about the financial basis of why we decided to come on this journey. We have discussed with the boys that one vague option BEFORE coming on the trip was to add a second floor on our house. E seemed to want to review that discussion.
E: “So we could have either added a second floor or come on this trip?”
S: “Well, Dad and I decided that — instead of adding space to our home — we would try to add space to our minds and our hearts by coming on a trip around the world.”
WHAT A LINE!!!!! And S isn’t even a morning person!

She is an amazing mom! But we all knew that already! ;-)
great insight! We’re counting the weeks till we read you’ve landed here in Thailand. Chiang Mai is ready with free housing and meals if and when you come through our neighborhood.
You’re on, Melinda!!
In light of the Conn. horror, you have made my day with insight . Also loving your Advent calendar so don’t stop. We need it here in the USA. Much love,B
Wow! I agree – what a comment from one of the courageous, forward thinking parents.
On another note, Spike is too cute – politely asking for food last night from folks at the fellowship gathering at Gigi’s and Poppy’s.
Great comeback! How was it received?
Debby — I think the response was something like: “Can I have some breakfast?”
Suby, you rock!
well done, sleepy mama.
Suby, I LOVE your response!!! You are a wise woman:)
