Vapor
The boys discovered a hiking path behind our campsite a few days ago that led to some peaks overlooking Iceland’s famous geysir (apparently, it’s the place where all other geysirs get their name). I sat on one of those peaks early one morning and watched the geysir spew gas and water vapor in to the air.
You’ve seen that sort of thing before with things like campfires – the vapor shape shifts and dances elegantly in the wind. Then it’s gone.
I’ve been struggling with how much that analogy fits in with our journey. We’ve had some astonishingly wonderful moments so far. Beauty. Vastness. Quality family time. Joy. Some real echo moments. Then, of course, these moments are gone.

Stunningly beautiful! Those moments might be gone but there are so many more around the corner to anticipate….
But there is more joy ahead: “A pleasure is only full grown when it is remembered.” CS Lewis
Thanks for all you are sharing!
physically gone perhaps, but forever present in memory and feeling and in the bond among you that those moments forge.
Love these posts! You are missed. Love the vapors…a fun prayer these days for me and ya’ll is that we be attentive to His wonders. Sounds like He’s answering for you!Hugs from the Yateses
