The Noise
I’ve spoken with some friends about THE NOISE that has been part of this journey — bits of things that I’m shedding (and noticing!) as we (try to) deepen our focus on the truest and most honest forms of faith, family, and our journey.
Our arrival in the Lake District has been particularly quiet, and not just because of its beauty to our ears and eyes.
A fire in the living room. Moss on an ancient stone wall. The face of a sleeping boy. A kiss from my wife at the door. Grazing horses in a nearby pasture. A detailed map outlining nearby walks. Morning mist. Rain.

Sounds wonderful! The noise here is a huge storm rumbling through and will bring us cooler temperatures. Yeah!!!! Love to all of you.
Simply Beautiful!
We have just gone through Hurricane Isaac in South LA. The pics and descriptions of the Lake District are very soothing and calming. Please take more pictures of this beautiful place. You are so fortunate! Re: NOISE – try Thomas Keating/Contemplative Prayer…. Best
This made me chuckle… initially I felt deeply homesick … then I thought – what? fire in the hearth? september? Isn’t int still summer? Ah yes but – actually I am still a little homesick because a holiday in the Lake District with moss and fire and horses and muddy walks does sound blissful. Keep shedding the noise Jim!
