Finding

A few days ago, I found two things that had been lost in my luggage: 10,000 Icelandic Krona (two bills that added up to a little less than $100) and a special charger for E’s camera. I’d been searching for those items for days … and it was a great relief when they were finally uncovered.

I say it was a great relief because I was surprised at how much that relief felt a lot bit like HOME – a kind of peaceful, comforting settledness in the midst of a great journey.

We’re going to be without a permanent home for so long … I think these small victories of settledness will go a lot further (farther?) for us emotionally than usual.

Like sitting down to a simple breakfast with family and Cheerios at a campground in Iceland.
